Doom 30 continued...

After all of the excitement of cake making, decorating, and eating it was time for Mark and I to celebrate on our own. Mark and I had planned out first "official" day out by ourselves leaving the kids at home with the babysitter. This was actually our first time away from the kids since we moved here and the first time we have ever left the kids with a babysitter that wasn't family. 

Anyways, we headed off on our two hour drive to Charleston. Our dream city. Seriously, this is where Mark and I have always wanted to live and one day we will.

Once we arrived we immediately hit the streets to do some shopping. I had already had the privilege of shopping at the Cooks store downtown but Chef Mark had not. So we were in the store for a good little while. He was in HEAVEN!!

After spending a good amount of time shopping and walking through the Market we walked down the pier. One of our favorite spots to visit while in the historic district. 

I can NEVER go to the market and not get some freshly boiled peanuts and pork rinds!!

Next we were on the prowl for some good grub....

and I'm pretty sure we found a WINNER!!

Wet Willies a daiquiri bar which just so happened to have a live band playing.

I got a Banana Split Daiquiri and Mark got Banana Daiquiri 

 I got hand breaded chicken strips and some of the most delicious fries I've ever had. Mark got a pineapple bacon burger that was drizzled with a caramel teriyaki sauce. I took a bite and O.M.G...WOW!! He made sure that the cooks in the back knew how good it was. Our waitress was awesome too. I can't leave her out. She got a really good tip for sure!! Seriously though if you ever visit the historic district in Charleston pay a visit to Wet Willies you won't be disappointed!!

Earlier in the day we had purchased tickets to tour the Haunted Jail...so we took to the street to make our way there....

This particular tour only lasted 45 minutes and only 1/2 hour of that was actually in the jail. Overall the tour was pretty cool and informative. Not sure I would ever want to stay the night there though!!
