Both of the boys learned how to ride their bikes on the very same day!!

In this very moment Carter is looking down at his baby brother and says, "Thank you mommy."
It was a true tear jerker moment.

Welcoming their baby brother into the world,
Aidan Nathaniel

We started noticing that Carter was having trouble in school around November and December. We started working much more closely with him. Around the end of January I started noticing that the tv was up much louder than usual, and I would call Carter's name 50 times before he would finally answer me. We questioned him about whether or not he could hear us correctly and he insisted that he could. That following week we received a letter from the school stating that Carter failed his hearing test on both ears. We immediately made him an appointment with Landen's ENT. So many things went through our minds. What if it was late onset sensorineural hearing loss? How could we have not noticed sooner?  How long has this really been going on? We felt bad. Horrible even. The day came and we took him to his appointment. Again he failed his hearing test, but it was fluid in his ears. A LOT of fluid in his ears. With surgery though, he would return to full hearing capacity. So he had tubes placed in both of his ears on February 22nd.

The nurse was giving lady dog a hospital band too, She had surgery with him. They have a special bond like that. The nurse stayed and played with him until it was time to go back. MUSC's Children's Hospital is amazing. His surgery went amazing. Seriously. He didn't take any additional tylenol or ibuprofen at all. He stayed home the next day as precaution but he probably didn't need to. He is back to full swing of things. Doing SO much better in school, and even complains things are too loud now. He goes back to be rechecked April 25th. Then we'll see just how well he can hear.

2 days after surgery!! He just loves that baby!

Oh Little Miss. She is something else. This little girls personality is out of this world. She has so much spunk. Love's her brothers. All 3 of them. Love princess's, tea party's, but still rough houses with the boys. She's made some new friends in the neighborhood and through Landen's cub scouts. This girl, mommy's girl is turning 5, FIVE, in May. Starting Kindergarten in August, in AUGUST! I feel unprepared for the world I'm entering into.

XOXO
Mel
