Holy Sickness Batman: Take 2

After I woke up Friday morning feeling completely drained from the constant hugging and love I was giving my toilet, I walked out into the hallway only to find Landen running to the bathroom with diarrhea too. NO. Ahh. Oh Man. This would make three days this week that he would have missed school. I had my hopes set that Landen would be well enough to go to school and that meant there would be no sibling fights and no need for mommy to get stressed (and maybe just maybe mommy could get a little extra R & R) No luck in that department though. No school. Which meant this sick momma was to be left home alone with three wee little babes 5 and under. Never fear though, when Mark found out that Landen couldn't go to school he came home early to help with the kids so I could get some rest. Gob bless him.

I started to feel like I was getting my strength back. Little by little anyways. Good thing too. Guess who started getting sick next? That's right Mark. Go figure. His sickness was not nearly what mine had been though. Nonetheless he was still uncomfortable and had a massive belly ache. He seemed to be able to settle into bed a little easier than I had the night before.

Morning came too quickly as usual. I awoke to poor Carter crying in the living room. He had walked out there and immediately had a bad case of diarrhea on the only carpet in the whole house. After giving him a quick rinse in the shower he seemed fine and hungry, but breakfast would have to wait a few minutes I needed to steam clean the area rug in the living room. I made breakfast as simple as possible. Cereal. After breakfast I decided to go in and change the boy's sheets, when I found that Landen had apparently up chucked a lot in his bed and guess what, the sheets had already been taken off and the puke had been covered with towels to slowly rot. Of course the boys' mattresses are from IKEA and so they don;t really have any "protection" per say. SO I took the mattress off the top bunk. Brought in the sweeper to get the dried up chunky's off. Then I tried to hand wash it, but that wasn't working so I brought in the big guns. The steam cleaner. After about 30 minutes or so I felt that it was clean enough. I was starting to feel pretty irritated by this point.

I took a quick trip to the store so I could get some snacks and bread for Landen's school lunch next week. I started getting that hot feeling again. When I got home Mark lied down for a quick nap since he still wasn't feeling good. So I went about by business doing the dishes, laundry ect. Nothing out of the ordinary. About an hour later I went down to change the laundry over and that's it. Literally. That's all I remember. I went down to the playroom to switch the laundry over and the next thing I know I'm laying in the floor and Mark is frantically trying to wake me up. I had apparently blacked out, fell on the hard tile floor and my head landed on the corner of one of my yard sticks. Needless to say I had a huge bruise and a small cut. Mark made me stay on mandatory bed rest for the rest of the weekend. This wasn't the first time this has happened but this one was by far the scariest. Poor Carter found me then ran into our bedroom and told daddy that mommy really needed him because I was laying in the floor asleep. God bless that little boy. I'm apparently raising him right.

Sunday evening (Super Bowl Night) around 8pm my stomach started hurting like it had on Thursday. All I could think was not again. Off I ran to the bathroom. From 8 pm - 8 am I had ran to the bathroom constantly non stop. Around 3:30am Mark got up and asked if I wanted him to run to CVS and get me some Imodium.  A huge sigh of relief came over me. YES!! Thank you honey!! It didn't help right away but it did slow down a bit after that. Monday was miserable. There were a couple times during the day that I thought I was gonna have to make a trip to the ER. Mark had a huge doctor party that night and it was going to be a LATE night for him. I layed the kids down super early (around 7:30). I felt bad but I needed rest. And pronto. Makr finally made it home around 9pm and immediately made me some broth to drink. I kept it down. Hallelujah! I rested pretty much all of Tuesday only getting up when absolutely necessary.

I'm just now starting to really get my strength back and get this house back into order. Amazing what happens around  here when mommy has to take a few days off. That was a seriously nasty bug and I think I've learned my lesson. I will never talk or even think about being sick ever again!
