I have to say we thought we were going to be done with kids after Kayla was born almost 5 years ago. I couldn't have been more wrong. Our lives have changed so much over the last 10 years. We got married after only being together for 10 months, but not before I joined the Air Force and got hurt in boot camp (a girl pushed me down while I was on a morning run, and I broke my ankle). Our journey was only beginning.
After our dreamy wedding night in January, we found out we were pregnant with Landen in March, and he was born in November at 37 1/2 weeks (because of my bad gallbladder). I was induced. The labor was long and hard, lasting 24 hours. I had a major placental abruption that caused major bleeding. After Landen was ripped from me (literally), I passed out. The doctor thought she was going to lose me, impatiently waiting for the anesthesiologist to get there. I ended up needing 2 pints of blood and Landen spent 24 hours in the nicu. His birth was nothing short of a miracle that we both made it though.
9 months later we found out we were pregnant again, with another boy. I didn't have too many complications with his pregnancy other than anemia and low progesterone in the beginning, I went into labor on my own at 38 weeks 2 days, and we made a dash to labor and delivery. I labored from about 12:05am (which is when I woke up with the contractions) to 10:35am when he was born. His placenta abrupted as well, but not nearly what Landen's did. I still lost enough blood to get another blood transfusion though.
Then two years later came our little miss Kayla. Her pregnancy was good. I didn't need progesterone. Still had anemia, but we also found out that I had Factor V Leiden Thrombophlia (blood clotting disorder). I got started on nightly injections and the world was good. I went into labor with her on the night of Mothers Day at 38 weeks. She was born at 10:05am the next morning. Her placenta slightly abupted, but I lost no further amounts of blood and got to go home the very next day.
After carefully considering if we wanted to have another baby or not we decided to give it a go. We started to plan around November 2014 for this new venture. I had been having trouble with my IUD and planned on having it taken out in January 2015. I got pregnant right away and had a miscarriage, making it a total of 4 that I had lost. I was devastated, but who wouldn't be. We got pregnant again right away. I had never been to another OB, other than the one that delivered all 3 of my other babies and naturally I was nervous. This new doctor had a much different way of dealing with things. Instead of doing blood work out the gate, she went ahead and put me on progesterone. I didn't like the idea of being on a medication if I didn't need to be on it. I went with it though. I also got started on my nightly blood thinner injections. The morning sickness started pretty immediately, although I am now reconsidering if it all was actually morning sickness or not (considering what I'm going through now). Anyways, the first trimester was HARD HARD HARD.
IT'S A BOY!!!!
AIDAN NATHANIEL COMING SOON!
Baby Shower Day in Ohio!!
I lived at the water park pretty much all summer.
Other than non pregnancy related stuff, this pregnancy was going pretty amazing. He was for sure an active baby. Always movin' and groovin' in there!
Other than the fact that I couldn't eat dairy because of the dizziness and sickness it brought on, the second trimester was a breeze. I felt good, and energetic. My hair was super healthy.
To be continued.......
