Welcoming Aidan Nathaniel- 5 Months Later Part 2

Notice the heart monitor on my chest? Why yes, I started experiencing heart arrhythmia during this pregnancy. Just another day in the life....

A very good friend of mine took maternity photos for me. Katie did amazing!

I really couldn't be happier with how they turned out.

Nearing the end of my pregnancy my OB and I started to disagree about some things. I even had thoughts of hiring a doula or even a midwife. I even looked into a new doctor but because I was high risk I didn't want to take the chance,  I had a partial placenta previa and the placenta needed to be no less than 1" from my cervix before I could give birth naturally. So the talk of a possible c-section started. If it moved just a little more she was going to allow me to "try" laboring on my own, but if the bleeding got bad it would end in c-section for sure. If I hadn't delivered by 39 weeks she was going to induce me and I was 100% against it. After what happened with Landen's birth, I didn't want any part of it. Nonetheless though, I worked long and hard on my birth plan. I put a lot of thought into it. Breastfeeding immediately was very important to me.

I felt like a beached whale!

At 38 weeks I was dilated to about 2cm. She refused to help anything move along, and set the date for my induction for November 2nd against my wishes. I felt stuck and irritated. To make matters even worse, she set up my induction date and she wasn't even going to be the doctor to deliver my baby. For personal reasons I refuse to have a male doctor and so Mark had to call and have a long conversation with her. She ended up allowing me to set it up to be induced on the 1st at 10pm. I worked hard trying to throw myself into labor. Dancing, cleaning, walking. It was exhausting.

To be continued....
