Dino Dig

I woke up feeling pretty good today. It's a good thing too. Landen had a really cool event with cub scouts today, digging for fossils. We all met up at Peace Presbyterian Church in Goose Creek. I don't own shoes, only sandals. So here we are showing up in sandals to trot through a wooded area, down into a creek to dig for fossils. Minus the severely cold water and the possibility of poison ivy, it worked out.

They sifted through the gravel and rocks for about 2 hours. I stayed down in the creek for about an hour until I started feeling a bit numb. My toes got too cold (they turned purple/blue). I actually had to put my gloves over my toes to warm them up. Live and learn I guess..haha.

Kayla was afraid there were going to be snakes. None to be seen though.

They had a blast. I had the boys wear their swim shoes at least.

Kayla found this really cool bottom tooth of a Snaggletooth Shark

This is what we ended up with at the end. 36 shark teeth and 1 fang.
1 possibly even 4 of the teeth were from a Thresher Shark and it dates about 25 million years old. It was a pretty cool find.

We could have had these two vertebrae and Megalodon Shark tooth, but Mark fell in the creek and lost them. Thankfully I got a picture first. Don't worry, Mark is fine.

Since Little Mister, Kayla, and I went back to car we decided to take some pictures too.

Other than continuous trembling, mild dizziness, and a continuous electric shock feeling in my brain, today has been okay. Best day in about a week or so. Thankful I got to go out with the family today. Hoping for more days like this!

Thank you Den 6 and Pack 725!!
