Wooo! Crazy how fast these past couple of weeks have went by. Lots of stuff going on everyday. Between doctors appointments and school activities its been a whirlwind of crazy.
So first things first...on the 15th we took the kids to the park. It was Little Mister's first time! We had a lot of fun. I had a good amount of energy to play with them that day. It was nice.
Friday May 20th Landen had his 2nd grade end of the year awards in his classroom. He received the bookworm award, which I figured he would get. This kid LOVES to read. He and Carter both read 1400 books (actually more but they stopped counting a week before school ended). Now Carter doesn't like to read nearly like what Landen does, but he's getting there. Reading is thinking, and thinking leads to greatness. That's my motto anyway.

Mister's first time swinging! He wasn't so sure about it at first, but ended up loving it.

Every time parents came to Mrs. Ellis' room, they were always greeted with a song! She was so sweet!
Carter's first grade awards ceremony was on Monday the 23rd and oh my goodness, I honestly couldn't be prouder of him. He struggled a lot from being partially deaf 1/2 of the school year and he worked really hard to make a come back. He won the 1,000 book club award, the Above and Beyond Reader Award, and the Most Books Read Award, which he tied with another little girl. He was just so excited when Mrs. Blanchard kept calling his name for awards. His face was priceless.
Mark also started getting really sick on Monday. He had a high fever and as soon as we got home from the IEP meeting he was sent to bed. When he woke up Tuesday morning he was having a hard time breathing, still had a fever and was coughing more. So I took him to Roper Express Care as soon as they opened. His oxygen level was at a 94 which is relatively low for someone his age. They did an x ray and sure enough he had pneumonia. Unfortunately for him though I had to be at the school for Landen's end of the year awards by 10am. He sat in the car and waited on me to get done. I felt bad for him. Poor guy. As soon as we got back home he was literally quarantined to the bedroom. I even slept downstairs with the baby for the next two nights.
Landen ended up winning the 1,000 book club award, and the Above and Beyond Reader Award during his awards ceremony. He has been in competition with another girl in his class this year. She has beaten him with the most books read now for two years in a row. In order to beat her this next school year we would need to read 840 books this summer alone. He is working hard on it though. He has been reading almost 10 books/chapters a day so far. Not sure if the momentum will keep up but he is eager to beat her this year.
Aidan had his 6 month check up on Wednesday the 25th. He actually had a fever. The doctor suspected that it was the cold that daddy started out with. No big deal, but he wasn't able to get his shots while we were there though. He weighed 21lbs 8oz! and 29" long! 90th percentile in weight and the 98th percentile in height. This boy is BIG! He almost dwarfs Kayla when shes holding him. She wasn't concerned about anything. He's a happy healthy baby. He's now on the move. Not crawling yet, but scooting everywhere. Every time I turn around he's in a new spot. Time to buckle down on baby proofing!
Since I unfortunately know what pneumonia feels like, I talked Mark into taking Thursday off as well and it's a good thing I did too. While he was starting to feel a lot better, he was still having trouble breathing when he was up and about. We attended Carter's Scrapbook party in the afternoon. It was fun to watch the kids talk about all of the stuff they've done during the year.
They were all excited to show everything off.

We stayed for about 40 minutes or so and then we all left and got Landen out of class early. We just happened to get their report cards that day and they did so awesome that we took them to the comic book store to pick out some new comics.

It rained pretty much the rest of the weekend, so we really didn't get to do too much more. Tuesday I had an appointment with my primary doctor and I had my first appointment with my Gastro doctor yesterday. Explaining my medical stuff will require an entirely new post. So look for that maybe later today.
Aidan is also going in this afternoon for his shots, since he had a fever last week. I'd say things are set to calm down now, but this is just the beginning. Saturday is Landen's bottle rocket derby for Cub Scouts, and Sunday we might be going to Whirlin' Waters Water Park for Scout Day. Of course my mom and dad will be in town late next week and we have planned some super fun things to do with them!

Love the pictures of the kids! Hope Mark is feeling better now! Have a wonderful fun summer!!! Can't wait to see you all in late July!!! Love to all!!!
