Higher Places

I am so very sorry that i haven't posted in a while. A long while. I've had my head up in the clouds lately.

I had to take an impromptu trip back to Ohio to help my family with my 94 year old grandmother. She had just gotten out of the hospital and wasn't doing very good. Those two weeks I spent in Ohio were some of the most precious moments I've ever had in my life. Grandma passed away at Hospice of Dayton with her whole family by her side, but not before I could have my special moments with her. Moments I'll never get to have again. I'm thankful for the time God allowed me to have with her.

Everything I see or have done lately has reminded me of her. My Facebook picture and cover photo's are of her. The countless quilts she sewed for me throughout my 29 years are scattered across the house. The quilts for the kids are used almost nightly. She loved quilting. It was her life. I think it's ultimately the thing that kept her here on earth for so long.

Yesterday marked 4 weeks since her passing, and Friday April 12 would have been her 95th birthday. I can only hope that I live to be that old.

I have been working on a couple different projects lately. A lot of which will ultimately bring back some pleasant memories of my grandmother.

Keep a look out for updates on a new Superhero Raggy Quilt (my first quilt EVER). I'm pretty excited about it. I'm making it for Carter who will be turning 4, April 24th. I've also been working on a couple other projects that I'll tell you about in due time :)
