Landen's Mothers Day-Wax Museum

In the midst of all of the chaos of Carter and Kayla's birthday party and the end of the school year quickly approaching, there are always some fun school events worth sharing. This year Landen's class held a Mother's Day Celebration. As soon as I walked through the door Landen was eager to seat me next to him. He pulled the chair out for me, then proceeded to get me a cookie and a cup of lemon infused water, then asked if I needed anything else. He really was such an adorable gentleman.

He read a couple things he worked on in class to me. I just love this kid!

Mrs. Ellis took video of the kids saying why they love their moms. It was super cute!

Then the class sang us a song!!

THEN Landen gave me my mothers day gift he made in class.

Sometimes I wonder how my children turned into such well mannered awesome kids. It's just who they are!!!

Landen also had his wax museum project on Tuesday, The kids did a lot of research on their animal and presented information to everyone while pretending to be a wax statue. He even had a button to press to start him up. He really got into character.

Landen picked crocodile as his animal. I sat pintresting and thinking about how to make a crocodile costume, but nothing really stood out to me. Mark had mentioned paper mache, but with everything else going on I thought it would be too complicated. Instead I decided to buy a black t shirt and felt to create scales. I started the project a couple weeks ago, but it got put on the back burner because of the party. After the party it was crunch time. I only had two more days to get it done before it was due.

I must have cut out a thousand little circles to create the scales. By the time I reached the front of the costume I was exhausted and tired of working on it. It took everything in me to get that sucker done. I didn't have enough time to make a mask or tail but it wasn't really needed. He was happy with what I made.

Here are a couple of other costumes the kids had. Some really went all out!
